Temperatures: Kyong Kim
2021
Exhibition

With the launch of Temperatures vol.2 ¹ featuring my work, Assembly ², an exhibition at Sculpture Space NYC ³ opened. The show features the base of the publication including ceramics from Assembly series and various byproducts created in the process and after. For Temperatures, 10 writers wrote long and short texts on each letterform, from a thorough analysis to anecdotes and fiction that tangentially relate to the work. The wall graphics are my response to their text, referring to the page numbers in the publication.

Temperatures* is an occasional publication about artists using clay, published and designed by Lauren Francescone. Vol. 2 features my work, Assembly†, an ongoing, generative body of sculptural ceramic vessels. Letterforms associated with this series were used as prompts to which a dozen writers responded. Contributions by Erik Benjamins, Marian Bull, Wade Cotton, Xiaoxi Chen, Matt Galler, Julie Moon, Kim Park, Nick Parker, Nat Pyper, JiEun Rim, Paul Ruppert, Julia Sanches, and Andrew Steinmetz are printed throughout the issue. Eunjoo Hong and Hyungjae Kim contributed illustrations.
