Kyong Kim is a Korean-born and New York-based artist and designer. Trained in architecture and graphic design, her recent body of work draws inspirations from mass-produced fixtures in building construction and graphic standards which she playfully dismantles and misuses. Her current interests include: precisely designed objects with ambiguous functions, handmade readymade, design failure, and material future. She holds a M.Arch degree from Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Columbia University and a BFA in graphic design from Kookmin University, Korea. She currently lives and works in New York City.
