Spike Lee: Creative Sources
Exhibition Design
Brooklyn Museum, New York
2023

‘Spike Lee: Creative Sources’ explores the facets of the American film director Spike Lee’s sources of inspiration with 450 objects from his personal collection and 14 film clips. Departing from the conventional white cube environment, the design introduces seven film sets inserted into the existing fabric of the museum. Within these sets, objects are hung salon-style on carpets, creating quasi-domestic settings reminiscent of his studio and home where the collection resides.
