Soft Structure extends my exploration of standardized architectural forms. Extruded from soft clay through a custom H-die, the pieces balance between void and gravity, my uneven pressure, and the constraints of space. Left unfinished—marked by bubbles, holes, and distortions—they convey a quiet image of structural failure. As they shift through drying and firing, fragile ceramic H-beams emerge, their glossy, plastic-like surfaces creating a tension between the strength we associate with structure and the vulnerability of the material.
